London Tweed Run 2012 – 6 May 2012

Well, it’s over.

Tweed Run, London on 6 May was, from our point of view at least a roaring success. This is because of you.  Every year we do this and it’s made possible by the hard work and good humour of a handful of lovely volunteers. We have some thank yous..

I’d like to thank Mark Dyne and each of the excellent Marshals who trained for weeks to lead, blocked and helped us through London ensuring our safety and allowing everyone a super nice day out. You’re the best. Additionally, Chris, Alan and John thanks for sorting out our table storage. Our Tea Stop ran amazingly thanks to Tim, Peter, Terry, Gesine and Simon. Thank you to Cath and Tyrells for the crisps, and the folks of Auchentosan for the cheer!

And lastly, lovely Jo Smart and team Cordings who made sure I looked amazing for our big day.

Everyone has their own special memories of yesterday. I’d like to share with you my own personal highlights.

Delphine came from Paris to meet her brother who flew in from Spain. Delphine made me cake because she felt i would be tired this morning and need something nice for breakfast, (which i did and i am eating right now, it’s amazing).

The couple who got up to make a 5am train out of Belgium.

We had the honour of being the back drop to the beginning of the rest of one couples lives – they got engaged at the Tea Stop! In true Tweed Run Style the ring was 1930s, lovely.

The people who stopped me through out the day to tell me this was you’re first Tweed Run and that you’d had a great time.

Thank you to all of you for coming in your fantastic outfits and with your splendid bicycles, including Mr. Harcourt and his leather wrapped diamond incrusted wonder bike, truly the most expensive cycle I’ve ever seen.

PS. We’ll be uploading our pictures this afternoon so check Facebook and our Gallery.
