today i had the most lovely afternoon with kate from lahloo teas. kate started her own tea company because she was bored of drinking bland teas from a bag. she’s mixed us our own tweed run tea blend — an afternoon tea that’s a mix of darjeeling, oolong and a touch of assam for depth. it’s delicious.
lahloo tea will very kindly be providing tea at the tweed run tea break, and we’ll be selling our special tweed run tea blend in the webshop soon. thank you, kate!

it’s been amazingly fun putting together a tweed run collection. and i’m happy to announce, yay, more tweed run product samples!
the rapha/tweed run socks.
made in conjunction with rapha, a pair of soft, luxurious merino wool socks with a modern interpretation of an argyle pattern. the seams at the toe are handlocked for strength, and the underside of the foot is finished in deep pile for extra comfort. they come with a pair of tweed run house tweed flashes. these babies have been a long time in the development, and the wait has certainly been worth it. around £40. delivery in early april.

the tweed run silk square
a luxurious 50 x 50 cm pure silk square, printed in scotland with our glorious tweed run bicycle pattern. the scarf has been handcut and hand-edged. perfect for wearing around your neck 50s randonneur style, or foppishly hanging out of the breast pocket of your hacking jacket. at £50, these beauties are ready to go and will be for sale in the shop by the end of the week.

the tweed run hip flask
what every gentleman cyclist needs. a 4 oz pewter hipflask, handmade in sheffield by a traditional pewter company that’s been in the same family for many generations. the tweed run bicycle pattern is etched into the surface both front and back, and then the surface is polished to a brilliant mirror finish. the flask comes in a nice presentation box, making them great gift items. these should be in stock at the end of next week. they’ll be about £45.

savile row is responsible for many amazing sartorial inventions, some more useful than others. in 1924, military tailors gieves (now gieves & hawkes) patented the life-saving vest. it’s a waterproof fitted waistcoat, which is lined with a bladder. to inflate it, you blow into tubes concealed in the chest pocket. ten years too late for the passengers of the titanic, but this was the basis for the modern lifevest.
